I’m in awe of all you made!  I’m a mom of 5 girls and don’t find much time to sew, but I’ve told myself it’s now or never and I’m planning to sew most of my two youngests’ summer clothes.  I’ve already bought a bunch of tallin and lugu cotton, but I’ll have to look for some knits.  I didn’t realize they were a thing!  PS love that pug!ReplyCancel

art gallery’s knits are THE SOFTEST! They’re kinda pricey, but if you want a heads up on some really bonkers low priced knits that have the same exact feel, DM me on insta! I’ll give you the scoop on getting some to practice with!ReplyCancel

Ha. It’s set to moderate comments for first time commenters! I deleted the redundant one. 🙂 I had about a month to make all these things! I can be fast when I need to be, and it’s something I’ve made before. I don’t think I’m actually that fast in general!ReplyCancel

  • So fun!!!!!!! Lumina dusk is my favorite ReplyCancel

Colleen, wow on top of WOW! That’s a lot of cute adorable PJ’s and models .I have yet to sew with AGF knits. Surely those are as exquisite as their Rayon and cotton. Lots of babies to sew fir this summer and subsequent baby shower gifts needed! Lugu is my ideal choice. Thank you for sharing the whole story behind the scenes photo shoot-indeed an epic undertaking. Love it all!!!ReplyCancel

cookie blouson jacket

I don’t even remember when I first saw the Cookie Jacket by Waffle Patterns. It was a couple years ago…I saved it, visited its listing on Yuki’s site…I thought of it longingly. Finally, last year, I bought the pattern. I had it printed through PDF Plotting…and still, it languished…unmade. Fast forward, and a small sewing...

sewing for others

Did you ever take the 5 Love Languages Quiz? I always figured mine was quality time…and I thought gifts was kind of dumb. BUT…the older I get, the more I think maybe…the way I speak love to others is to give them things. And…hang with me here. I think I’m having an as-I-write epiphany. Sewing...

LOVE those nested Toasters, you clever girl.ReplyCancel

I am so with you! I made something for my son this year which he clearly didn’t like…I tried to step back and remove my feelings. I don’t want him to feel like he can’t tell me or like he has to keep/use something just because I made it.

And I did enjoy making it even if he didn’t like it.

I think I will always make things for those I love. ReplyCancel

it’s so tricky, isn’t it?! I’m glad my mom told me those tops weren’t working for her. We picked out a new pattern for me to try…and those unders for Husband need at least an inch added to the back rise. It’s unrealistic for us to expect that if we don’t get it right for OURSELVES every single time, that every non-selfish sew will be a win. Hey self! that was a great pep talk! hahaha.ReplyCancel

It really is a huge undertaking to sew for someone and hit all the markers. The fact that you are even willing to try (teacher gifts, what?!?) amazes me no matter how many times you do it. I hope that anyone who receives a gift from you can remember that it wasn’t just a piece of fabric and thread that went into it, it was also a piece of you.ReplyCancel

      <3 <3 <3 you're the best. Thank you for your constant encouragement.ReplyCancel

it’s a̶l̶m̶o̶s̶t̶ new year’s eve

which doesn’t really have anything to do with anything but is true, nonetheless. Loni is always telling me I should blog. This’ll make her happy. I was very prolific in 2018. It’s not over (I think I can squeeze 2 more things in before midnight tmw), and I stand at 208 things made. I gave myself...
